Pathways Danbury (Pathways) is one of the largest and oldest Christian mentoring programs for youth (ages 11 to 17) in the state of Connecticut. Pathways was started in 1997 to combat the high rate of High School dropouts among at risk boys in Danbury CT.
In our first year of operation 5 middle school aged young men were paired with 5 mature and successful mentors from two churches in the greater Danbury area. Those 5 initial mentors along with our current mentors are mature Christians who serve as friends, advisors and role models, and seek to support, inspire and motivate mentees and help them develop into Christ filled young men who seek excellence in all they do as they transition from adolescent to young adult hood.
Our mentors are a critical part of ensuring that our mentees graduate from high school and are prepared to thrive in college and the world beyond. So much so, that from our first year of operation, 94% of students who stay in our mentoring program have graduated from High School in 4 years and 100% have graduated with 4.5 years.
